Autobiography - final

﹝Family background﹞

I am Yi-Ping Li. Lily is my English name. On April 16, 1994, I was born to a middle-class family. Now, I am 18 years old, studying in National Tainan commercial vocational senior high school. I come from a very happy middle class family. My mother works in a Tobacco & Liquor Corporation. She always teach me how to manage my life orderly. My father died in 2002. After that, my mother took cares of me when I was young. I am not the so-called spoiled child. I do my best to show understanding for my mother’s toil. Also, I make great efforts handling everything on my own in order to let her know that I am a responsible person. I really appreciate her.

﹝School's life﹞
I am studying at Department of Applied Foreign Languages in National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. My school life is cheerful except for I should spend long time on waiting bus. I am glad to have so many lovely classmates to learn and experience a lot of activities together.

  I remember when I was a second grade student; school chose some people to be pickets. Because I went to school early, I was chosen to be one of the pickets. Not knowing how to do the job, I gave it a try and tried to do my best on it.  Little did I know that I would be the picket leader for the team of correct someone else’s uniforms. Some of the people often wore the wrong clothes to school. Of that, we should tell them and register them. But sometimes people’s attitude was not good. They feel nervous and speak ill of us. So we had to learn how to keep in a good mood and take a good attitude toward schoolmates.

    As a student majoring in English, I study English every day. I study not only the textbooks but also English magazines. I believe that the more I read the better reading ability and the more vocabulary I will get.  By working hard, my reading ability has improved a lot.  With my teachers’ encouragement, I took the General English Proficiency Test and passed the elementary level. After that, I took the intermediate level of GEPT. Though I didn’t pass the reading tests, I knew my English ability still left something to be desired.

﹝Self-Evaluation﹞

I have a professional ability. It is painting. I has been practicing it almost 9 years. I always draw picture in my free time and appreciate art exhibitions. I am also interested in writing. I have won two literary awards in the junior and senior high schools since I love reading all sorts of books. Thus I hope one day I can create my own works.

 I regard that my personality is enthusiastic and amicable. I always do my best in helping people. Therefore, I participated in service activities from the hospital and the library. It was a great experience for me to give service to the society. In the hospital, when I saw the person ill and hurt, I am thankful to my parents for giving me such a healthy body..

 "I just think that life cannot be made so simply." As Rabindranath Tagore wrote, I firmly believed that life is a perpetual surprise. I am respected and open-minded to everyone. Every creature was made with dignity, and all living things had their own way to live.

﹝Future Perspectives﹞

As for my future, I plan to enter a great college with the beautiful environment, professional teachers and wonderful facilities. This is the great college I have been longing for. The Department of Foreign Language in my high school offers all kinds of English-related courses, which will help me enhance my English ability. Moreover, I have been keeping watching for information of the school from predecessors and teachers. Knowing the aspect of the school where has many resources to reach my goal. After enter this college, I have some objective wanting to achieve. First of all, I want to pass the IELTS, TOEFL and High-intermediate of GEPT. In order to prepare for that, I will study hard and make more efforts to sharpen my English, especially my English listening and speaking abilities. Second, I would also like to learn Japanese. Though I often take poor grades of Japanese in my High School life, I will spend much time studying Japanese and having a good command of it. The last but not the least is take my college life be colorful and fantastic. I really hope that I can be admitted to this university.

 In brief, I am quite sure about myself and always persisting in carrying out my plan of future. To reach my goal, I have tried my best through carefully mapping out my schedule with a hope that my life will go just as I want. This is out of the question and it may need to be adjusted to the changing circumstances though, I will hang on it!
